Discussions are centered on the following main topics ; organization of courts, ability and regulation of parties, cause of action, law of evidence, judgement and res judicata, appellate procedure. The object of the course is to give the systematictheory of civil procedure and to indicate its concrete development through the analysis of cases.

Law of Market & Competition is a basic collateral course for students majoring in various socio-economic studies and humanities, and will focus on the spirit of free, private market economy and core norms in its operation. Students will learn, analyse such key issues of free market as basis of market economy, constitutional control over economy related legislation, monopolization, collusion, merger and acquisition, unfair business practices, special issues of business group and small firm. Class will adopt various educational method such as lecture, socratic and law & economy approach. Students will also be required to practical case studies on selected core issues in the regulation of present market and businesses in the Republic.

The labor law is the law governing labor relations. We shall read and study on the basic structure and legal framework for the core laws – the labor standard act and the labour union act. Main topics are the worker, the employer, working hours, recess, wages, statutory allowances, retirement benefit system, transfer of labor relations, rules of employment, dismissals, personnel movement on the labor stand act, and trade unions, collective bargaining, collective agreements, industrial action, adjustment of industrial disputes, unfair labor practices on the union act.

This class starts with the methodological issue in comparative politics, i.e., we compare why, what, and how. The clas traces the question why some countries are economically developed while some others not, and why some countries go to democracy while some others experience dictatorial and authoritarian politics. Readings will include the literatures of modernization, dependency, corporatism,authoritarianism, liberalization, and democratization.

Furthermore, International Law issues regarding Korea such as Dokdo, Maritime jurisdiction, Environmental cooperation will be addressed as well.

Starting from grand paradigms such as realism, liberalism, constructivism, and Marxism, various international relations theories on specific subjects are introduced. Students will have chances to apply relevant theories to the reality of international relations across the issues of war and peace, nationalism, international order, ethics and norms, and diplomatic means, etc. Textbooks and reference materials will show how to combine historical, theoretical, and normative approaches in understanding international relations.

This lecture deals with the dynamic interrelationship between constitution and politics, which has been one of the most important theoretical issues in modern political theory. While it is necessary to understand the fundamental characteristics and contents of the constitutional law of a country in order to shed proper light on the nature and procedural characteristics of its politics, it is also necessary to understand both the historical political process through which the relevant people established the constitution and the basic common values reflected in the constitution in order to understand the characteristics and the limits of the constitution. In this general theoretical framework, the following topics are specifically dealt with: the meaning and the kinds of constitution, theories of constitutional interpretation, basic rights, the separation of power, the interrelationship among constitutive political ideologies of Korean constitution and their harmonious integration and so on.
