Specifically, this course reviews definitions, models of organizational culture, stages of culture change, company-wide organizational transformation processes, resistance to change, and importance of leadership roles.

This course reviews basic concepts of cultural competency to understand inter-cultural diversity, intra-cultural diversity, and new-culture diversity. In addition, this course studies how to measure such cultual competency to identify and develop successful organizational talents in global markets.

This course will examine various issues involving counseling with children and families from diverse cultures. It will explore in depth the relationship among culture, status, ethnicity, cognitive ability, religion, physical ability, etc. Research from different countries will provide the basis for understanding the situation in Korea.

This course will provide a broad overview of the topic of child abuse and neglect. Including the assessment and treatment of physical abuse, emotional abuse and neglect. This course will also deal with the nature, causes, consequences, and societal responses to institutional and individual forms of child maltreatment. Students aim to propose legal, legislative and social reform in light of their social science understanding of violence against and by children.
HRD5018 Barriers to learning , development and participation in soceity 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 - No
This course will examine the shift in the paradigm of inclusion. Special education will be viewed from the perspective of rights-based approach to learning for all children with disabilities. Education will be viewed with the purpose of reducing or eliminating barriers to learning and development. Furthermore, it will extend learning to include participation in the society. Students will be introduced to the new UN Convention on Persons with Disabilities and various other relevant documents.
HRD5019 Risk and Resilience 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 - No
This course will provide an integrative review of major research findings on resilient adaptation during childhood. Since resilience is not a child attribute that can be directly measured, it will be viewed from the perspective of dual coexisting conditions of high adversity and positive adaptation in spite of this. The concept of risk and resilience will be applied to various risk factors.
HRD5024 Team Creativity and Inovation 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 - No
This course offers a review of literature on team creativity and innovation. Drawing on a variety of literature including social psychology, organizational behavior and management science, the course examines multiple factors and group process variables that foster the creative processes in teams. The primary teaching method is inductive and experiential. The core of this course is a series of team simulations, complemented by a variety of out-of-class team projects. These team-based activities are designed to enhance students' ability to develop practical skills needed for the creation and maintenance of creative processes in collaborative work settings.
HRD5025 Culture and Negotiation 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 - No
This course examines the fundamentals of successful negotiation between individuals, groups, and organizations. The course reviews recent development in negotiation theory and practice and discusses the role of culture in a variety of negotiation context. An emphasis is given on key cross-cultural differences in the minds and behaviors of negotiators across cultures, and methodological issues in conducting cross-cultural negotiation are discussed. Drawing on social psychological research on persuasion, conflict and conflict management, social cognition and small group behavior, students develop an in-depth understanding of the antecedents and consequence of successful negotiation. The course is complemented by a variety of in-class negotiation simulations and team-based negotiation projects.
HRD5026 Cross-Cultural Communication 3 6 Major Master/Doctor 1-4 - No
This course examines recent issues concerning cultural diversity in communication between individuals and groups. The course reviews a selection of theoretical papers and empirical research in multiple disciplines, including social psychology, sociology, communication, and organizational behavior and discusses methodological issues in cross-cultural communication. The course is complimented by cases and communication exercises. A basic premise of the course is that students need both analytic and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate in cross-cultural context.

This course will provide advanced knowledge of theoretical bases and practical techniques of behavior modification. We will also study scientific methods to evaluate behavior change programs for children, adolescence, and adults. In particular, the application of behavior modification principles in family, school, and community settings will be reviewed.

Students are encouraged to contact faculties for pursueing investigations of new areas that are not included in regular curricula. A student is required to meet a preferred faculty regularly on an individual basis and proceed the study under the direction of the professor.

Selection and maintenance are two most important topics in talent management. The concept of fit between individuals and organizations will be examined to explain selection and maintenance. Students are required to understand similarity fit and complementary fit in their relations with organizational effectiveness such as productivity and achievement of strategic goal.
