Why Choose Us?
1. Education program & Environment
Our educational program is small and intensive, coupled with a rich and diverse curriculum. The undergraduate and graduate programs offer about 40 courses annually and each course is typically attended by about 20 students (undergraduate) and 5 students (graduate). Such a class atmosphere allows faculty and students to closely interact with each other, producing an optimal educational setting, unrivaled by other departmental programs in other universities.
Our graduate program has successfully garnered funds from the Korean government, including BK21 PLUS (Brain Korea 21 Program for Leading Universities & Students). For the last four decades, more than 1,000 students have completed degrees in the department and advanced to contribute to Korean society in many diverse fields. Recent statistics show that more than seventy-five percent of our recent graduates received jobs after graduation.
2. Future Vision
There are many professors and researchers who have advanced into the academic world among our alumni. In particular, an exceptionally high percentage of graduate students have obtained doctors' degree in foreign countries, proving the quality of the sociology program at our university, as well as the leading position of our department in the academic world.
